"A brighter future is ours to write. Let's begin this new chapter -- together -- and let's start the work right now."
Those were a few of President Obama's final words as he finished delivering his sixth State of the Union address moments ago.
He spoke not just about where we are as nation, but where we're going.

I have always been appalled by the way the country seemed to thrive on enabling disfunction in families….. help was often refused to married people…every organization that people turn to for help as soon as they ask if its a double income home, whatever help was applied for would immediately be denied…..thank you President Obama for implementing and encouraging more help for families to aid in keeping a roof over our heads, and for encouraging the vote for higher wages, lowering the cost of education which will enable more of our children to be gainfully employed.

The State of the Union Address focused on Middle-class economics means helping working families feel more secure in a world of constant change. That means helping families afford childcare, college, health care, a home, and retirement. President Obama’s budget will address each of these issues, lowering the taxes of working families and putting thousands of dollars back into their pockets each year.
These ideas won’t make everybody rich, or relieve every hardship. To give working families a fair shot, we’ll still need more employers to see beyond next quarter’s earnings and recognize that investing in their workforce is in their company’s long-term interest. We still need laws that strengthen unions, and give American workers a voice. Things like child care, sick leave, equal pay, lower mortgage premiums and a higher minimum wage, ideas like these will make a meaningful difference in the lives of millions of families. These proposals incentivize new home buyers.

The President has involved all the values in giving a well rounded State of The Union Address. Just to point out a few highlights: President Obama is interactive and in his reference to people and their struggles, he features them and or has them as his guests. Exercising interpersonal relationship skills. A lot of compassion exhibited, making people feel invaluable. There is the creation 58 million new jobs, the restoration of the middle class (which the President has been adamant about repairing). The emphasis placed on the importance of the growth of small businesses to help improve an economy, child care affordability. Now America has joined forces with other countries to grant paid maternity leave – I wondered about that! The overdued increase in minimum wage. Higher education emphasised, with the implementation of free 2 years of Community College. The entire situation with the Vets addressed and we hope long term solution to this problem. A much improved and improving America. Way to go Mr. President!
