MLM helps ensure the successful introduction of mobile device technologies across an enterprise by speeding rollout and providing operational support for mobile device and application planning. The postal courier and delivery industry is typically a very harsh environment for mobile devices with high repair and return rates. UK Mail introduced MLM and immediately saw dramatic results. Scanning rates from depots in the first roll-out phase hit 100 percent and across the business the scanning rate has risen to 96 percent. The enhanced customer visibility regarding packages is also leading to a decrease in calls to UK Mail’s customer support center. When a device does require repair, UK Mail has elected to use Motorola‘s Fast Track support service program which provides a “ready for business” replacement unit the following business day.

Performance is governed by customer-specific service-level agreements and clients can have visibility to all operations and performance measures through the Mobility Lifecycle Management Portal, a customizable browser-based reporting and analysis tool.
