MILESTONES
At the age of seventeen (17) I recognized that young girls my own age and some younger became pregnant at this age. This was when I developed a passion for helping young mothers to complete their education and become responsible mothers. At this same time I learned how to create different types of recipes for my family and became interested in the art of cooking and baking. In 1986 I attended Audrey Cohen College here I was awarded a BPS degree in Human Services.
Worked in the human service field for over 25 years, with various populations, mentally ill, elderly, young men and women, substance abusers, chronically medical cases. apprenticeship, internship, over the years have had training in cultural and community interaction, upgrade on hippa, osha, aot, job mandated training on line. Learned to listen to the need of the person and ask questions that would facilitate growth. health statistics shows that marketable jobs for families in the system has dropped over 2000 or more yo

STRENGTHS
90% of families receives some form of services from the city grants, endowments from large corporations
WEAKNESS
1/3 of families in the Bronx live in poverty. Homelessness danger to children who live in shelter from abuse, neglect, death—unemployment of young mothers spending of funds; abuse of children in our system, not addressed on a timely manner.
